When to visit

Arrive early if you can. The official car park fills quickly in busy periods and traffic builds on the single-track approach. A later visit can also be calmer when daylight and weather are suitable.

What the walk is like

The route follows the burn towards the Cuillin, with pools and waterfalls appearing along the way. Expect an outdoor path that can be wet, uneven and exposed to changing weather. There is no single point where you must turn around; choose a distance that suits your party and conditions.

Parking and the road

Use the official marked parking and never stop in passing places or block access. The Glenbrittle road is single-track, so allow more time than the mileage suggests and be ready to use passing places correctly.

If it is too busy or too wet

Do not force the visit when parking or conditions are poor. Consider Talisker Distillery, Carbost, Dunvegan or a Portree day, then return at a quieter time.

Before you travelCheck current weather, access and parking information. Water levels and path conditions can change after heavy rain.
